BlockBeats News, on January 29, according to official news, Irys launched the first Programmability data chain tailored for AI, with a local EVM execution layer and unlimited data capacity, Irys Testnet reached 100,000 TPS, 6,000 times faster than FIL, and 20 times cheaper than Arweave. Irys has announced the launch of Testnet for its Programmability datachain, the first L1 blockchain designed to combine low-cost, scalable storage with EVM-compatible execution to address key bottlenecks in AI. Josh Benaron, Founder and CEO of Irys, said, "Irys aims to enable new use cases through programmability, where AI can generate unlimited digital content, and blockchain ensures that this content is verifiable and scarce. Irys is more than just storage, it enables intelligent agents to communicate with each other, share memories, and break down silos. When agents are able to discover and learn from each other, they become exponentially smarter. This is just one of the use cases." Irys is the first Programmability's L1 datalink that goes beyond existing L1 models and is designed specifically for AI. By combining a low-cost storage layer with a high-performance, EVM-compliant execution layer (IrysVM), Irys enables data programmability that is not possible with any other data chain. Irys was built by the team at Bundlr, who successfully increased Arweave's daily trading volume from 10,000 to 15 million and supported 98% of its activities. Irys has raised $8.9 million to date, backed by Lemniscap, Framework Ventures, Primitive Ventures, and others.
