AI Agent: Crypto's Non-Gambling Narrative

Every time I write an article about AI+Crypto, there are always voices asking, does AI need Crypto? Besides Gambling, what else does Crypto have? It is hard to imagine what it means to a person who firmly believes in 'Technical Narratives + Long-termism' when hearing such seemingly correct yet uninformative words.

1. I don't want to argue back because, based on the logic of 'only making money,' not only AI, the DeFi, NFT, Gamfi, Metaverse, and many other narratives that appeared in the previous cycle have not achieved the expected results, and the speculative elements are far greater than the actual application value. So when you say that AI doesn't need Crypto at all, or even say that all narratives are for gambling, I really can't argue.

2）AI is a historic leap forward in human Internet technology, fundamentally changing the way users and the Internet interact, from keyboard input to the proactive prediction of natural language understanding needs, greatly expanding the upper limit of human productivity. Therefore, AI is a historic opportunity that cuts across all industries such as web2, web3, and traditional tracks. Why is everyone hitching a ride on AI, but Crypto is not? Moreover, in terms of production relations such as computing power, algorithms, and data, Crypto can indeed meet and supplement the natural deficiencies of the AI web2 environment.

It can only be said that AI is still in the stage of innovative exploration, and AI Agent applications have not yet become a necessity in the lives of the general public, so the 'take it or leave it' innovation is sprouting. The production relationship optimization contributed by Crypto is too advanced, giving the feeling of being somewhat redundant. However, in reality, some AI Agent applications in vertical fields involving privacy cannot do without being driven by Crypto.

3. I have always advocated that AI Agent is the collective redemption of all the old narratives in Crypto history. Why? The fundamental core is that AI Agent directly points to applications, just like many online to offline models envisioned in the era of Internet portal websites, only truly unleashing its potential when mobile Internet phones are popularized.

In my opinion, AI Agent belongs to the 'mobile Internet application end' of Crypto and it is the moment of outbreak. Only when AI Agent is widely popularized, various distributed data contributions, distributed computing power aggregation, distributed traceability incentives, distributed DePIN edge computing, and other visions outlined by Crypto will truly be realized. By then, many old narratives such as ZK, modularization, chain abstraction, BTCFi, layer2, etc. will truly come in handy.

Because if the chain infra block-seeking party is the AI Agent fine-tuned by everyone, the truly decentralized, transparent, and secure consensus architecture can truly bring out the value of the AI Agent's interconnection, which is a height that cannot be reached solely rely on web2-level AI technology innovation. Just as even now, some people still criticize the meaninglessness of decentralized consensus, but everyone can see that Crypto's slight penetration into institutions and national forces in DeFi, RWA, and other tracks has long been no longer needed to discuss.

I fully agree with and understand the diversity of the Crypto world, whether it's short-termism or long-termism, they are just different pursuits of you and me. Of course, the ways of reward and punishment are also different. Although, in the short term, long-termists are very hurt, even in a ridiculous chaotic high PVP market, there needs to be a group of Ah Qs who deeply understand the art of spiritual victory.

Because the market always needs idealists.
