BlockBeats news, March 26 — According to data disclosed by KobeissiLetter, U.S. Treasury holdings by various countries surged by $34.8 billion in January, reaching $9.3 trillion, the second-highest ever recorded.
Japan, as the largest foreign holder, purchased $39.8 billion worth of U.S. Treasuries, bringing its total holdings to $1.2 trillion, the highest level since July 2022.
The UK is the second-largest holder of U.S. Treasuries globally, with holdings increasing by $29.3 billion to $895.3 billion, marking the third-highest record ever.
The UK is the third-largest holder worldwide, with holdings rising by $10.9 billion to $694.4 billion, the highest since September last year.
Meanwhile, multiple EU countries collectively increased their holdings by $8 billion, reaching $2.1 trillion.
