The Nasdaq will eliminate the 10% public float threshold starting May 1 and introduce a fast-track pathway for mega-cap IPOs.

Gate News message, on March 31, the Nasdaq announced that, effective May 1, 2026, it would officially eliminate the requirement for a minimum 10% public float. At the same time, Nasdaq added a “fast track” rule that allows qualified mega-cap IPOs to be added to the Nasdaq 100 Index (the benchmark U.S. technology stock index) within about 15 trading days.
