Gate News message: World published MiniKit 2.0 on World Chain, introducing a standardized development framework that enables developers to build an application once and deploy it to the Web environment and the World App with minimal changes. This upgrade is compatible with the Ethereum EIP-1193 standard, simplifying cross-platform integration and improving development efficiency.

MiniKit 2.0 supports converting existing applications into mini programs with just a small amount of code changes—sometimes deployment can be completed with only two lines of code. The application’s performance in the World App is exactly the same as the Web version, without the need to rewrite core logic, and the testing, distribution, and iteration processes are also smoother. In the past seven days, the mini program recorded more than 2.2 billion cumulative opens and over 12.1 million active users, demonstrating significant user engagement.

On the payments side, MiniKit 2.0 adds stablecoins such as wARS, wCOP, wMXN, wBRL, wPEN, wCLP, and EURC, enabling localized payments and simplifying developers’ management of regional payment systems. Performance improvements are driven by the Flashblocks integration, which reduces transaction confirmation time to about 200 milliseconds, supporting real-time transactions, interactive games, and high-frequency applications.

In addition, the gas sponsorship feature introduced by Privy allows developers to cover transaction fees on behalf of users, optimizing the new-user registration experience without needing to manage wallet balances. World also launched the World Build 3 developer program; the next cohort of learners will participate in a hackathon, the Seoul developer camp, and a San Francisco demo day, with total prize money of up to $20,000. The program also includes three months of online course training.

World plans to showcase MiniKit 2.0 at the EthCC conference from March 30 to April 2. This upgrade not only lowers the barrier for building cross-platform applications, but also strengthens World Chain’s infrastructure capabilities in local payments and real-time applications, providing developers with more efficient tools and broader market opportunities.
