Closer ties with Europe's single market could potentially accelerate Britain's economic expansion. However, Prime Minister Keir Starmer appears hesitant to strengthen those Brussels connections. What's holding him back? The political calculus seems more complex than pure economics would suggest.

Starmer is still playing political games. The economic data is right there, but he insists on getting hung up on so-called "political considerations"... It's really hard to understand this logic in the UK.

Simply put, it's still political considerations outweighing economic interests. The Brexit rhetoric is still there.

To put it bluntly, no matter how reasonable the economics are, you still have to compromise politically. What Starmer is doing now is like having a contract with loopholes but being unwilling to upgrade it—you can clearly make money, but you just don’t dare to act, afraid of triggering some hidden permission issues.

Damn, it's this economic logic again... Do they really think politics is just a math problem?

nah starmer's just reading the room tbh... actually if you read the contract on brexit, the whole "rejoin" narrative is just textbook greater fool theory waiting to happen. watched this exact pump pattern months ago lol

Flirting with the EU like this—was all the fuss over Brexit for nothing?
