Another scandal has rocked the Web3 community—a certain KOL team is suspected of attempting to extort $12,000 from a project team!

Altura's operations staff directly released solid evidence: a KOL team privately messaged and threatened them, essentially saying, "Don’t want people to know about your past NFT project scandals? Then obediently send $12,000 over." The project team simply made the entire chat record and the other party's account information public—this counterattack was ruthless.

To be honest, this probably isn’t the first time something like this has happened in the circle. Some so-called opinion leaders use their influence as leverage, forcing project teams to comply—if you don’t pay, they smear you; if you pay, they stay silent. This time, Altura chose to stand their ground, which serves as a wake-up call for the industry.

But then again, why do these people dare to be so brazen? It’s still because many projects are afraid of escalation and reputational damage, so they end up paying to make the problem go away. But in the long run, tolerating this kind of behavior will only make these parasites more rampant. If it needs to be exposed, expose it; if legal action is necessary, take legal action. Don’t let bad actors drive out the good ones.

Manipulating public opinion and making money from it—this space is truly something else. --- Altura's move this time was refreshing, we need more of these. --- Why do KOLs seem even more ruthless than project teams? This industry tests its limits every day. --- There are so many people who pay to avoid trouble, that's how these parasites are bred. Time for something tougher. --- I just want to see how this KOL team ends up—this is a social death live recording. --- If this had happened six months ago, it probably would've been suppressed quickly. The fact that they're standing their ground now shows there's still trust. --- $12,000 can buy the total collapse of a KOL's reputation? Altura made a killing. --- The problem is, how many projects will get trapped by this playbook in the future? Is exposure alone really enough?

Haha, here we go again. The leeches in the space are getting more and more shameless. I support Altura standing their ground this time. These vampires need to see the consequences. The problem is, there will be others copying this next time, as long as project teams keep caving in. Honestly, a single KOL dares to ask for 12k? That’s insanely bold. I just want to know how these people still have the nerve to show their faces. A major cleanup is long overdue. Things are way too chaotic now.

Damn, these people are really outrageous. They dare to blackmail just because they have some followers? They totally deserve to be exposed.

This is really insane. This kind of extortion scheme has been everywhere in the community for a long time. The only worry is if the project team actually chickens out, then it's game over.
