Just look at how fierce the competition is in this field—Arbitrum, Optimism, Starknet, ZKSync, and Base are already fighting it out online, while the likes of MegaETH, Aztec, and INK, who haven't even entered the game yet, are sharpening their knives. Everyone is eyeing the same piece of the pie, and no one is willing to give in.
What's even worse is that by 2026, L2s will have to go head-to-head with a new generation of high-speed EVMs. Their speeds are no slower than yours, and their level of decentralization leaves you far behind. How can you win this battle? The technical debt hasn't even been paid off, and new rivals are already at the gates.

This is hilarious. L2s are like a battle royale—let's see who survives until the end.

It's getting way too competitive, honestly. Feels like L2 has hit a dead end.
To put it bluntly, everyone wants to be the kingmaker, but in the end, none of them can actually make it.
By 2026, they're just going to get completely outclassed.

To be honest, entering L2 now is just a gamble—betting on who can survive until the end.
Watching so many L2s fight each other, Base still has some confidence because of Coinbase, but the others are really shaky.
Wait, are we supposed to compete with a new EVM in 2026? Then the current tech advantage will be long gone.
But with Arbitrum's data volume, it probably won't die out in the short term... right?
This track is already outdated; we should have been looking in other directions a long time ago.
While L2s are still fighting, Ethereum mainnet must be laughing.
Honestly, those who are still bullish on L2s now are either heavy users or just gamblers.
Feels like Optimism and the others might just be dying a slow death—nobody has realized it yet.

At it again? L2 should have cooled off a long time ago, I told you so.
Do these project teams really think stacking ecosystems will make them win? What a joke.
Base and ARB have been fighting for so long and still haven’t settled it, yet they dare to talk about 2026? Let’s see if they can even survive until then.
The competition is brutal, but that’s just the crypto space—I’m already used to it.
Let’s see who bails out first, anyway it won’t be me.
This round will probably wipe out a bunch; the question is, which ones will die.

It's too competitive, L2 is just a dead end.
Arb and Op are competing with each other, and Base wants to stir things up too—this is just a mess.
Wait, there will be a new EVM in 2026? So what about the friends who are all-in on L2s now...
L2s are just transitional products, everyone wants to win but no one can.
In my opinion, apart from the top projects, there's really nothing worth playing with anymore.
The L2 path has now completely crashed.
