After a four-month marathon, we've finally reached the finish line.
Out of thousands of teams battling it out worldwide, only a handful make it to the podium. Honestly, every time I see one of these global hackathons, what impresses me most isn’t the prize money, but the drive behind all those sleepless nights spent coding and putting together PPTs—the belief that “I think this thing can actually change something.”
Here’s the final list of winners for this ICP ecosystem-sponsored WCHL25:
The champion took home $50,000—Prometheus Protocol, which built a trust layer for AI agents. Sounds pretty abstract, but with so many AI Agents flying around these days, someone really does need to address the question: “Are you really who you say you are?”
Runner-up with $35,000—RhinoSpider. The name is wild, but what they’re doing is even more practical: packaging and selling your unused home bandwidth and computing power to dApps and AI, letting you earn money. It’s the old concept of P2P resource sharing with a new twist.
Third place with $25,000—AfriTokeni went straight into the African market, enabling people without smartphones to use Bitcoin. Now that’s true financial inclusion—not just the kind you see in PPTs.
There was also a separate Best Demo award for the AI track, which shows just how many AI projects crowded into this hackathon.
Congrats to all the teams that made it to the finals. Next time, let’s keep pushing the limits.

Only by hustling can you get a big piece of the pie.
