HYPE monthly unlock triggers selling pressure: Team has cashed out 680,000 tokens, price once fell below $30

Abstract generation in progress

[Crypto World] HYPE’s recent price movement has been pretty nerve-wracking. On the 29th of last month, the first monthly unlock dropped 1.745 million tokens to the team. And what happened? On-chain data shows that team members have already offloaded over 680,000 tokens through private deals and direct sell-offs, and staked another 310,000 tokens.

This round of actions pushed the token price down, at one point dipping below $30, a 17% drop from this week’s peak. What’s more concerning is that some analysts have crunched the numbers—the current buyback plan can’t absorb this selling pressure at all. The key issue is that this unlock schedule will continue until October 2027, with around 10 million HYPE tokens being released each month.

Honestly, this kind of long-term unlock plan puts a lot of pressure on holders. If the team keeps dumping tokens as soon as they get them, how strong does the market have to be to absorb it all?

Ironically, yet another confident team has run into reality. With 1,745,000 tokens dumped, the buyback plan has become a joke. --- Data shows unlocks continue until 2027? That means we’ll be facing four more years of sell pressure. Interesting. --- Objectively, a 17% drop isn’t even the worst we’ve seen. Wait, this is just getting started. --- Not to be argumentative, but anyone who witnessed the last round of crypto liquidations wouldn’t have any expectations for a “buyback plan.” --- The team cashed out 680,000 tokens, while holders are left holding the bag. This round of retail investors really has it tough. --- Interesting, yet another “genius” thinks they can stabilize the market with a buyback. Has no one learned from history? --- Unlocking until 2027—this is basically a slow-acting poison... --- From a data perspective, there’s no way this can withstand continuous sell pressure. I suggest everyone ask themselves if they can really hold on until 2027 before getting in.

Scaremongering. Some mining coins have mined 40% in a year and nothing much happened. Now do you see how outrageous this is? If you ask me, even unlocking 20% in two years isn’t enough for the top tokens for the market to absorb.

ngl the tokenomics are just broken here... 174.5m dumped and buyback can't even keep up? that's textbook unsustainable lmao

The team's move this time is really ruthless—they cashed out and immediately dumped on the market...

Another team cash-out script, unlocked until 2027? How long is this going to keep dropping?

The team's move this time is really ruthless—1.745 million tokens dumped directly onto the market, the buyback can't hold it down at all.

The team really dumped hard this time. Now we have to wait until 2027 for the lock-up? So our holdings just get diluted like this? That’s outrageous.
