ZKsync 2026 Roadmap: New Directions in Privacy, Cross-Chain, and Proof Systems

【Crypto World】ZKsync has just announced its technological roadmap for 2026, with several directions worth paying attention to.

In terms of privacy, they plan to upgrade Prividium from a simple privacy engine to an enterprise-level infrastructure. Imagine privacy no longer being an add-on feature but directly embedded into the system’s core. This architecture can directly interface with existing enterprise systems and workflows, making the deployment of privacy applications as straightforward as building standard enterprise infrastructure.

The ZK Stack will see even more significant changes. Previously, independent chains operated separately; now, they aim to create a collaborative system. Application chains will shift from peripheral roles to the core of the stack, allowing applications to seamlessly switch between public and private ZK chains. Native integration of liquidity and infrastructure eliminates the need for complex cross-chain operations.

Additionally, their open-source RISC-V proof system Airbender has evolved from a high-speed zkVM into a universal standard. Speed is no longer the only KPI; now, priority is given to security, the rigor of formal proofs, and developer experience. This system not only serves ZKsync and the Ethereum ecosystem but also targets traditional application scenarios.

It seems that the ZK architecture is finally about to open up the main and collateral channels. Embedding privacy into the underlying layer is indeed a bold move. Enterprise-level strategies should be executed like this. Will the bunch of cross-chain issues finally settle down? Seamless switching sounds comfortable, but I wonder how effective it will actually be. Let's wait and see. Airbender upgrading from a speed monster to a universal standard is quite interesting. Whether it can truly become an industry standard remains to be seen.

Now it's really serious. Privacy has shifted from flashy to hardcore infrastructure... companies should no longer be able to sit still. I'm paying attention to the shift from independent chains fighting alone to collaborative systems. Whether native liquidity integration can truly solve the mess of cross-chain issues depends on actual implementation. Airbender evolving from zkVM to a universal standard... What does the phrase "speed is not the only metric" mean? Besides performance, what else should be considered?

Embedding privacy at the underlying layer is indeed impressive. However, the term "enterprise-level infrastructure" still sounds like just making big promises... The key with ZK Stack is to connect the application chain; seamless switching between public and private chains? Only when that is truly achieved does it count.

This time, the ZK Stack overhaul is real. The collaborative system is much better than the previous siloed approach. Seamless switching between public and private chains, native liquidity integration... If it can truly be implemented, the bunch of cross-chain shit will finally be reduced.
