If the rupiah weakens, I don't complain, but I've been taking advantage of it all along.

That's the exchange rate difference. The longer we invest in US stocks, the more benefits we will feel. I started investing in US stocks in 2018 when 1 Dollar = 14,000 IDR. Today, it reached 16,950. So, the 'bonus' profit from the exchange rate difference alone is about 21%.

With my Pluang account, in April 2025, 1 dollar = 16,5k, and compared to today, I already have an exchange rate profit of about 3%.

The effect of the exchange rate difference becomes more noticeable over time. Against the rupiah, the dollar will continue to reach all-time highs because America remains the center of global technological innovation, from AI, chips, to cloud and software. Meanwhile, Indonesia is still focused on mining. So, it doesn't matter whether the exchange rate reaches 20,000 IDR per dollar sooner or later.

That's why, when investing, especially in US stocks, I always focus on the long term.

The 'bonus' is substantial.
