According to Bloomberg, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that because the South Korean Congress has not yet legislated the bilateral trade agreement reached last year, the U.S. is considering increasing tariffs on Korean goods from 15% to 25%, involving sectors such as automobiles, timber, and pharmaceuticals. Trump has also recently issued tariff threats to multiple countries, including imposing 100% tariffs on Canadian products if Canada and China reach a trade agreement, and potentially imposing new tariffs on European goods, as well as taking tariff measures against countries conducting business with Iran; however, these threats have not yet been implemented.
