I just found out that the recent claim that "霸王茶姬 contains a large amount of caffeine and is a drug" was made by Ma Qianzhuo.
It's quite funny. Watching the bullet comments on Bilibili, I realized that there are actually so many people who don't know that caffeine naturally exists in tea leaves, and they think caffeine only exists in coffee. Then, because caffeine, cocaine, and heroin all have the character "因" in their names, caffeine is also considered a quasi-drug.
There are many substances that have central nervous system stimulating effects—do they all count as drugs?
Nicotine, not to mention; ethanol, not to mention; but they specifically target caffeine. Quite thought-provoking.
