🕵️ According to CoinDesk, the UK High Court has allowed a lawsuit involving the theft of 2,323 $BTC (approximately $172 million) to proceed. Plaintiff Ping Fai Yuen alleged that his estranged wife, Fun Yung Li, snooped on his #hardware wallet seed phrase via a home CCTV camera and transferred the #Bitcoin stored in a Trezor cold wallet without authorization in August 2023. The judge noted that the plaintiff's claim of "conversion" typically applies only to tangible property under UK law, but ruled that the #case could still proceed based on other legal grounds. The #Bitcoin in question is currently scattered across 71 on-chain addresses and has remained unmoved since December 2023. #regulation
