Cere Network CEO Fred Jin and Lime co-founder Brad Bao have been named as defendants in the second federal civil RICO lawsuit in the United States. The latest case was filed by investor Josef Qu in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, seeking $57 million in damages. Previously, plaintiffs including Goopal Digital filed a $100 million lawsuit, bringing the combined claims across both cases to $157 million. The lawsuit alleges that Cere Network made misleading statements to investors regarding token issuance, distribution, and fund usage, and involves allegations of securities fraud, RICO violations, and related unlawful conduct. The allegations have not yet been determined by the court. (FinanceFeeds)
