NPR host Scott Simon's X account has over 971,000 followers. The account was hacked and locked to prevent scammers from promoting fake cryptocurrency projects. His colleague Steve Inskeep warned fans that Simon has not sold any digital assets and stated that they are working to recover the account with the help of the X account. This incident highlights a trend: hackers target well-known media figures with large audiences to quickly promote fake cryptocurrency tokens or phishing links, similar to recent incidents involving Paul Sperry of The New York Post and Nick Robinson of the BBC.
