I recently thought about something that many people still don't understand well, even though it's very important for crypto trading. It's about the crypto bull run and why this period can change some people's lives or even cause them huge losses.
So, a bull run is basically a momentum where the crypto market rises sharply within a relatively short period. If you've seen 2017 or 2021, those are perfect examples of what happens during a crypto bull run. Prices jump, mainstream media start covering it, and suddenly everyone becomes a crypto investor overnight.
What’s interesting is that bull runs tend to follow a fairly consistent pattern. First, there's an accumulation phase where those with insight start buying quietly while everyone else is still asleep. Then, prices begin to gradually rise, a recovery phase. Next, boom, euphoria kicks in and everyone FOMO enters without thinking. Finally, there's a distribution phase where those who accumulated earlier start selling, and the market becomes volatile.
Identifying a crypto bull run is actually easy if you know what to look for. Bitcoin is usually the leading indicator; if BTC keeps rising, altcoins follow. Social media buzzes, NFTs and DeFi become trending, meme tokens suddenly have value. Every week, new projects launch promising the sky. Market liquidity increases dramatically, crypto adoption expands, and the opportunity to get rich quickly feels real.
But here’s the important part: a bull run is like a double-edged sword. Yes, there are legit investment opportunities, room for traders with solid strategies, and even chances to launch your own Web3 project. But if you join without a plan, follow the crowd with your eyes closed, it can end with a bubble burst and your portfolio destroyed.
I see many people caught up in the euphoria, investing everything they have without risk management. That’s a big mistake. Crypto bull runs are real, but so is volatility. What you need to do is stay clear-headed, manage risks well, and invest in serious projects, not just trending ones.
If you feel a bull run is coming or already underway, use that momentum wisely. Learn first, research the projects you want to invest in, have an exit strategy. Don’t get carried away by FOMO. A bull run is an opportunity but also a warning sign if you're not careful.
I'm curious about your opinion—do you think a crypto bull run will happen this year? Or have you experienced a period like that yourself? Share in the comments; I want to hear other people's perspectives on their strategies during a crypto bull run.
