Remember that Indonesian NFT guy who went from broke college student to millionaire in literally three days? Yeah, that actually happened. Back in early 2022, this kid named Ghozali had been taking selfies every single day for four years straight - 933 photos total, just him sitting in front of his computer. Not exactly artistic or polished, just... regular selfies. Then one day he decides to throw them all on OpenSea as NFTs, pricing each at 0.001 ETH (around $3 at the time). Wild move, right?

But here's where it gets insane. Within half a day, people started going absolutely nuts for these photos. The floor price jumped from basically nothing to 0.9 ETH (about $3,000), and collectors were flooding in like crazy. By day three, the entire collection had done over 314 ETH in volume - that's over a million dollars. The most expensive single selfie? 66,346 ETH. Yeah, you read that right. One photo. This NFT guy became an instant millionaire, and honestly, nobody really expected it.

The funny part is that the photos are genuinely ugly by any normal standard. Bad lighting, messy background, no artistic vision whatsoever. But that's exactly why it went viral. People started memeing about it hard - comparing him to Beeple, calling it the Asian version of BAYC, making jokes about how he somehow got better looking with each photo. Some Indonesian celebrities with massive followings helped amplify it, and before you know it, this nobody became a household name in the crypto space.

There's definitely some speculation that a few wallets were accumulating these NFTs early and hyping the collection to push the price up, which is pretty typical for how these things work. But regardless, the kid's life changed overnight. Indonesian tax authorities even reached out to congratulate him and remind him to pay taxes - which he said he'd obviously do.

The whole thing shows how unpredictable the NFT market really is. Nobody knows if these will hold value long-term, but for a few days in early 2022, this NFT guy was the most interesting story in the entire space. Honestly, it's one of those moments that reminds you why crypto communities love a good underdog story, even if it's just regular selfies.
