JUST IN: Google quietly launched a new AI powered dictation app on iOS called Google AI Edge Eloquent, focused on offline use and automatic text cleanup to compete with a new generation of speech to text tools.

The app can function offline after downloading speech recognition models based on Gemma.
It also offers a cloud mode with Gemini models to refine the dictated text.
