Coins with the lowest maximum supply in the crypto world actually form a very interesting category. Recently, more attention has been paid to this topic because limited supply often plays a significant role in price dynamics.

In my opinion, Yearn Finance's YFI token is the most notable example in this area. There are only 36,666 units available, and the maximum supply is the same. This protocol, known for its DeFi yield strategies, keeps its price levels quite high due to token scarcity. Such extreme limited supplies create significant value in the market.

MakerDAO's MKR token also ranks among the coins with the lowest maximum supply. With a total supply of around 96,000 and a maximum supply close to 1 million, it provides a very restricted distribution as a governance token. MKR holders are at the core of the DAI stablecoin ecosystem.

BarnBridge's BOND token has reached its maximum supply. Being capped at 10 million reflects the confidence in this project's risk management solutions. The limited supply strategy appears designed for long-term value creation.

Balancer's BAL token has approximately 71 million in circulation, with a maximum supply close to 96 million. This structure is used to incentivize liquidity providers as an automated market maker protocol. Such controlled supply models are necessary for the functioning of the AMM mechanism.

Protocols like UMA, Ren, and SushiSwap also have defined maximum supplies. These coins are considered valuable projects in the crypto market due to their limited supplies. Especially UMA's nearly 127 million total supply as a decentralized derivatives contract platform shows a very controlled distribution compared to other DeFi players like PieDAO and DeversiFi.

These types of coins with the lowest maximum supply are generally designed for governance or protocol participation purposes. When demand is high, limited supply creates significant upside in price dynamics. Paying attention to such scarcity dynamics when building a crypto portfolio can be crucial for long-term value capture.
