Google News briefly indexed Polymarket's betting page and then removed it, with the official saying it was a mistake.
Deep Tide TechFlow News, April 12, according to Cointelegraph, predicted that the betting page of the prediction market platform Polymarket briefly appeared in Google News search results, displayed alongside mainstream media, and was then removed.
Google spokesperson Ned Adriance told The Verge that Polymarket’s appearance in Google News was a mistake, “the site briefly appeared in Google News due to an error, and it is no longer displayed.” According to a case cited by Futurism, when users searched “Will ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz,” Polymarket-related market pages appeared alongside reports from Reuters and The Guardian. Cointelegraph conducted its own search for the same keyword on Sunday and found no Polymarket results.
Last year, Google partnered with Polymarket and competitor Kalshi to integrate both platforms’ data into Google Finance.
