ETH rises 0.68% in 15 minutes: ETF capital inflows and institutional rebalancing drive short-term rebound
From 2026-04-12 20:30 to 2026-04-12 20:45 (UTC), the single candlestick for ETH recorded a return of +0.68%. The price ranged from 2197.57 to 2218.26 USDT, with an amplitude of 0.94%. Short-term fluctuations intensified, market attention warmed up, and capital flows became active.
The main drivers behind this abnormal move are accelerated net inflows into ETF products and institutional portfolio rebalancing. ETH ETF products ended the outflow trend in early April; within this period, they achieved net inflows of 114.66 million US dollars, boosting spot demand. At the same time, the number of on-chain large transactions (≥1000ETH) was 38% higher than the daily average. Net capital inflows into a certain top exchange were about 2.1万ETH, indicating that institutions and large investors increased their holdings.
In addition, the BTC-ETH capital rotation continued. As the BTC market share declined faster, funds gathered toward ETH. On-chain holdings by large addresses (≥10,000ETH) increased net by 0.5%, while smaller and mid-sized holdings showed profit-taking behavior. Layer 2 scaling solutions (Arbitrum, Optimism) saw transaction volume and DeFi protocol TVL increase month-over-month in sync; ecosystem expansion and network upgrades attracted capital inflows. In the derivatives market, the trading volume of bullish options rose by 22%, implied volatility climbed to 18.7%, and leveraged longs chasing gains drove short-term volatility to resonate.
Be cautious about the volatility risk brought by rising leverage exposure in derivatives. If macro liquidity contracts or the BTC-ETH rotation trend reverses, as capital outflow accelerates, ETH’s gains may give back. Pay attention to on-chain fund flows, ETF capital movements, and leverage changes in the derivatives market. In high-volatility conditions, do not overlook support levels and risk warnings. For further updates on market movements, continue to monitor subsequent on-chain and capital data.
