Data from #Arkham platform revealed that Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, sold large amounts of the cryptocurrency over the past three days. Why is he selling now, and how will this affect investors?

1️⃣ Transaction Details

Amount: Sold 2,961.5 #ETH over 72 hours.

Value: Approximately $6.6 million.

Mechanism: Transactions were conducted via #CoWProtocol using small payments, so the market did not experience any shock.

Transparency: The wallet linked to Vitalik is fully transparent, including #ETHUSDT , $USDC , #EUROe , and $GHST , with no privacy protocols used.

2️⃣ Why is he selling now?

It’s important to understand the context of the sale. Vitalik previously announced an increase in ETH withdrawals, recently transferring 16,384 ETH worth over $43 million. He has also directed investments toward charitable causes, managed through his organization Kanro, which also focuses on biological research and biotech, and promotes open-source security.

Therefore, these sales include planned capital, and do not reflect panic behavior. Additionally, he has always been a slow seller; he does not sell suddenly, and this pattern continues here.

Price decline is unrelated: his sales came after Ethereum’s recent drop of (~25%) due to global economic factors, and are not the cause of the decline.

The sale volume is very small: compared to Ethereum’s daily trading volume in the billions, selling $6 million has almost no impact on the price.

Vitalik uses his previous profits to support scientific research and the future development of Ethereum, not for short-term trading or selling.
