Yangtze River Delta–Central Europe (Central Asia) rail freight volume increased by 27.3%

In the first two months of this year, the Yangtze River Delta Railway China-Europe (Central Asia) trains operated 525 trains, a year-on-year increase of 27.3%. The trains have covered 36 countries, forming several major cargo categories, effectively promoting the development of international logistics.

This newspaper report from Beijing on March 6th (Reporter Li Xinping) states that according to China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd., the number of China-Europe (Central Asia) trains operating in the Yangtze River Delta has seen strong growth in the first two months of this year. A total of 525 trains were dispatched, a 27.3% increase year-on-year. Goods such as complete vehicles, auto parts, and daily chemical products are continuously transported via China-Europe (Central Asia) trains to countries along the route.

Since the first China-Europe (Central Asia) train service launched on September 29, 2013 (Suzhou—Warsaw), over ten years of market cultivation have expanded the Yangtze River Delta China-Europe (Central Asia) train routes from 1 to now 15, reaching 36 countries across Europe and Asia. Among these, 25 countries in Europe include Germany, Spain, and the UK, while 11 countries in Asia include Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

Currently, the Yangtze River Delta region has formed distinct cargo characteristics: Yiwu to European countries mainly exports small commodities; Suzhou to Hamburg, Germany, and Warsaw, Poland mainly exports electronic products and appliances; Hefei to Hamburg mainly exports white home appliances and machinery products. In the first two months of this year, Yiwu China-Europe (Central Asia) trains successfully dispatched 152 trains, with 16,000 standard containers shipped.
