Commissioner Wang Xiaolong: Domestic high-end machine tools have been directly used in the manufacturing of large aircraft and other major national projects
On March 7th at 2:00 PM, the second “Member Passage” collective interview session of the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference was held in the north hall of the Great Hall of the People.
A reporter asked National Committee member Wang Xiaolong, Chairman of Yigong Robotics Yinchuan Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Ningxia Fostate Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., how China’s industrial mother machines can truly be equipped with a “Chinese chip.”
“I come from Ningxia, which has a solid foundation in equipment manufacturing,” Wang Xiaolong said. He and his team have been rooted in Ningxia for nearly 30 years, with a common goal: to ensure that China’s industrial mother machines are truly equipped with “Chinese chips.”
After graduating from university in the late 1990s, Wang Xiaolong worked at a Sino-foreign joint venture industrial mother machine company. At that time, foreign machine tools could operate fault-free for an average of 5,000 hours, while domestic machine tools only lasted about 2,300 hours. Later, Wang Xiaolong founded his own company. They focused on Ningxia’s local industrial base, collaborating with universities and research institutions, and continuously tackling core technologies of industrial mother machines.
“To solve the precision problem of the spindle, we once stayed in the workshop for three months, deploying sensor networks and developing dynamic compensation algorithms simultaneously. During high-speed operation, issues like micron-level deformation caused by heat changes in motor bearings during cutting were encountered. We went through countless debugging and validation failures, but finally found the key to overcoming the problem,” Wang Xiaolong said. “Our machine tools can compete with top international equipment in the field of ultra-precision machining.”
Wang Xiaolong mentioned that in recent years, domestically produced high-end machine tools have been directly used in the manufacturing of major national projects such as large aircraft and aero engines. The overall autonomy rate of five-axis linkage machine tools has been increasing year by year… These advances come from China’s complete industrial system, huge market demand, continuous technological innovation, and the self-reliance and strength of industry practitioners.
In the future, he will lead the team to continue focusing on the control systems, core components, high-precision sensors, and other critical “bottleneck” areas of industrial mother machines, continuously innovating and accelerating breakthroughs to fully realize autonomous and controllable core technologies.
