The number of measles cases in the US this year has reached four times the average level of previous years.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently released data showing that this year, the United States has reported at least 733 confirmed measles cases, which is four times the average annual number typically seen in the country. The CDC states that most cases are concentrated in communities with low or no vaccination coverage. In recent years, vaccination rates for measles, mumps, and rubella among preschool children in the U.S. have continued to decline, making herd immunity unachievable. (CCTV News)
