According to the National Development and Reform Commission, the logistics costs across our society have steadily decreased for several consecutive years, reflecting continuous improvements in economic efficiency. The latest estimates show that by 2025, the total social logistics costs as a percentage of GDP will further decline to 13.9%, reaching the lowest level on record. The transportation structure continues to optimize, with accelerated development of “public to water” and “public to rail” modes, driving improvements in comprehensive transportation efficiency and reductions in logistics costs. By 2025, waterway freight turnover will consistently account for over 50%; national railway combined transport volume has increased by more than 130% year-on-year. Bulk materials and long-distance transportation are shifting toward more economical and environmentally friendly methods, significantly reducing trunk line transportation costs. (CCTV News)
