To be honest, I didn't take profit at the high point on this trade yesterday.
My first thought was the mockery of fate. If you don't trade, or if your trading skills aren't deep enough, you can't feel this sensation of being toyed with by fate.
This is also why many people can't control their emotions. Initially, my take-profit target was 74600, then I thought about it and figured it might not reach there, so I lowered my take-profit to 74000. According to normal technical analysis, there's an 80% probability that 74200 would be reached.
But yesterday's highest point was 73900—just 100 points away from my take-profit level. I often say my market predictions can be accurate down to single digits, and this time was no exception.
I only deviated by 100 points in identifying the high, but the take-profit simply didn't trigger.
From a technical perspective and an emotional one, the probability of 74000 not breaking through was less than 20%, yet the market just produced a pattern that didn't break 74000.
I can only say that every excellent trader understands they're fighting against fate itself. This is also why I look down on many mediocre people in the community—they blab about this and that, completely unaware that their true opponent is fate. They never even thought about winning at trading, never experienced this feeling of contending against fate, lack the courage to fight destiny. So naturally all their energy goes into social politics and gossip.
Even if I profit hundreds of thousands in this moment, I'm unhappy—because what I want isn't to close out this trade profitably. I want to master my own destiny, control every market move. Even if the deviation is only 100 points, ordinary people think I'm incredible, but I know—this is fate's new challenge to me.
