Recently, I noticed a pretty interesting political gossip. Steven Cheung's days within the Trump camp don't seem to be going too well.

First, let's talk about his background. Steven Cheung is a Chinese American who grew up in California, and he's considered one of the most well-known Chinese American high-ranking officials in Trump's team. This guy used to be famous for being a fierce defender of Trump, with a tough mouth, often confronting reporters and dissing celebrities. His warlike style of speech has become his signature. But recent developments suggest he might have really pissed off Trump and his hardcore supporters.

The turning point happened on January 13 of this year. Trump visited the Ford factory in Michigan, and he was confronted face-to-face by a worker who accused him of being a "pedophile protector" and complained that the government hadn't released Jeffrey Epstein's files. Trump responded with a middle finger and some profanity, making the scene quite awkward. Steven Cheung immediately stepped in to defend him, issuing a statement saying that the protester was a "lunatic who completely lost control," and that the president's response was "the most appropriate and clear."

This statement directly caused an uproar. Reuters, Yahoo, and other media outlets all reported on it, and netizens criticized him heavily, saying he was "a low-level warlike protector" and "how can the White House speak like that." The focus was all on him calling the protester a lunatic.

Besides this incident, there are also rumors that Steven Cheung opposes certain law enforcement actions, but these are mostly conspiracy theories within the MAGA faction, with no mainstream media confirmation. On X (Twitter), such claims are everywhere and are full of misinformation.

Interestingly, some also blame his fall from favor on his flaunting wealth—luxury cars, mansions, and so on. But the fundamental issue is that Steven Cheung's long-standing fiery style combined with his relentless defending of Trump has gradually annoyed people.

The current situation is that he has gone from being Trump's most loyal gunman to seemingly an outsider disliked by his own people. Politics, huh? Over-defending can easily backfire, don't you think?
