According to Decrypt, U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters introduced the “Stop TRUMP in Crypto Act” bill ahead of Trump’s memecoin dinner. The bill prohibits the president, vice president, members of Congress, and their immediate family members from issuing, holding, or promoting any cryptoassets during their term of office, and prohibits trading based on non-public information.

This bill targets Donald Trump and his family’s recent encryption asset activities, involving the memecoin issued by First Lady Melania Trump and several encryption startup investment projects participated in by Trump’s children.
