Gate News message, April 1, an Arab official said that after suffering an Iranian attack, the UAE is preparing to help the United States and its allies open up the Strait of Hormuz by force. This move would make the UAE the first Gulf country to take part directly. Officials said the UAE is currently lobbying the UN Security Council to pass a resolution authorizing such military action. A UAE official revealed that its diplomats have urged the United States as well as major military powers in Europe and Asia to form an alliance to forcibly force the strait open with military power. The official added that the Iranian regime believes it is fighting for its survival and is willing to take the global economy down to the grave by locking down the strait. The official also said that the UAE is actively assessing the military role it could play in ensuring the strait’s security, including assisting with clearing mines and providing other supporting services. In addition, some Arab officials said this Gulf state has also proposed that the United States should occupy the relevant islands within that strategic waterway, including Abu Musa Island, which Iran has controlled for half a century but which the UAE claims to have sovereignty over.
