According to the most recent report, Bitwise Asset Management has announced $233,000 in donations to Bitcoin open-source developers. The donated funds are likely to be 10% of gross profits generated from its Bitcoin ETF (BITB)

It is largely noted that the donation by Bitwise will be distributed through organizations that support Bitcoin development, including Brink, OpenSats, and the Human Rights Foundation

The contribution by the Asset Manager is a part of its pledge to allocate 10% of BITB’s gross profit each year towards supporting developers who maintain and secure the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Following this $233,000 donation, the total donation of Bitwise has now reached $383,000, as it had already contributed $150,000 in 2025

With this announcement of donation, the co-founder and chief technology officer of Bitwise, Hong Kim, said, “ Developers are the unsung heroes of the Bitcoin network.”

He added, “ When we launched BITB, we wanted to ensure that as interest in crypto grew, the developers who maintain and secure the network would be supported. No matter where we are in the market cycle, developers continue to build and maintain. We’re proud to continue our support of this important work with our second annual donation to these great organizations.”

In the Bitcoin ETF category, BITB by Bitwise has made a unique identity, and as of writing, the trade price was $39.72 with a turnover rate of 8.875% and AUM of $2.91 billion, along with a market capitalization of $2.91 billion.

Recent funding secured by the Bitcoin developers

The data on the website of Open Sats Initiative, Inc., noted that it has received a $116,000 grant from the Human Rights Foundation’s Bitcoin Development Fund for our Operations Budget, following a $250,000 grant last year

This grant was part of HRF’s Q4 2025 donation round, which distributed 1.3 billion satoshis in funding to 22 freedom tech projects worldwide

In November last year, it was reported that OpenSats had received $200,000 from StarkWare and an additional $200,000 from the Starknet Foundation, for a total of $400,000 directed to our General Fund

Tether announced in October 2025 a donation of $250,000, which was made to strengthen OpenSats’ ability to fund free and open-source projects that secure Bitcoin and advance the broader freedom tech ecosystem.

The Reynolds Foundation has made an additional $2,000,000 donation to OpenSats in 2025, directed to OpenSats General Fund, following a $1,000,000 gift in 2024
