The United States is preparing for face-to-face talks with Iran, with Vance possibly attending.

Jinse Finance reported that on April 8, U.S. officials said the Trump administration is preparing to hold face-to-face talks between U.S. and Iranian officials within the next few days. Both sides will work to reach a long-term agreement to end the war between Washington and Tehran. White House press secretary Leavitt said: “The possibility of holding face-to-face talks is currently being discussed, but until the president or the White House officially announces anything, nothing has been decided.” Officials said the talks are very likely to be held in Islamabad, with Pakistan’s director serving as a mediator expected to attend. They added that, given the two-week ceasefire agreement announced by the United States and Iran tonight, the likelihood of the talks is increasing. According to officials, Trump’s special envoy Wittekoff, his son-in-law Kushner, and Vice President Vance are expected to attend. Vance is currently visiting Hungary, and sources say that if the timing is right, he may add a stop to his itinerary. (CNN)
