PAX (Paxos Standard) is the world's first compliant stable currency, issued by blockchain startup Paxos and regulated by the New York Financial Services Department, aimed at providing; Digital alternatives to cash; To provide liquidity for investors trading encrypted assets for real-time transaction settlement across all asset classes. It is a stable currency supported by 1:1 US dollars, with 1 PAX equal to 1 US dollar. All PAX reserves will be 100% mortgaged against the fully held US dollars. PAX is built based on Ethereum's ERC-20 standard and can be sent between any two wallets on the Ethereum network. Verified Paxos customers can purchase or redeem PAX on their company website. As mentioned earlier, the total supply of Paxos standard tokens is supported by the legal tender in reserves. In order to mint and destroy tokens, there is a supply controller address. As a trust company, Paxos is the trustee and qualified custodian of client funds, thus providing greater protection for client assets than any other existing stable currency.
